Threads Through the Bible – parish visit
On 8th April the sun shone on a group of twelve Parishioners who made their way up to Southwell to view the inspirational ‘Threads through the Bible’ hangings exhibited in Southwell Minster.
Each beautiful panel, created by Jacqui Parkinson, merited long reflection as we marvelled at the dramatic artistry and layered imagery, depicting The Creation, Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, and the Revelation. We paused our viewing to share together in the Minster’s 12.15 Service of Holy Communion and take a lunch break which most of us enjoyed with picnics in the Archbishop’s Palace Gardens. Then it was time to view the rest of the exhibition, before sharing thoughts over a cup of tea and making our way home – maybe looking forward to another Parish outing when the time is right?
