St Giles 999

Friday 2 October 2026

Dorothy and Vivien were in the church getting ready for Friday Playgroup when a huge fireball outside the church shot high in the air with acrid smoke coming from a burning car. Vivien rang the fire brigade which arrived promptly and extinguished the flames. Nobody was hurt, the only casualty was our church noticeboard.

The incident was due to an electrical fault in the vehicle. The owner was taking it to the garage but got out just in time. The firefighters were invited in for coffee and cake which made them happy!

After it was all over the firefighters showed off their fire engine.
