Salt and Light, Langar
Sunday 6 October 2024
On Sunday afternoon we were truly blessed in St Andrew’s, Langar with a wonderful performance from LAMPs Collective of their production called Salt and Light – the first of our tasting cellars as we put our vision of being a ‘bespoke vineyard’ into action.
It was set in Lake Galilee in AD 30 in the little fishing community of Capernaum where rumours of miracles and healings abounded. Five members of one family were struggling to make sense of the radical new teacher walking their shores – who was he, what was he and what might it mean for them and the rest of their lives? The questions of the first disciples were shared through catchy shanties, beautiful storytelling and inspirational spoken word.
Our packed church of folks from our parish, across the Deanery and beyond were spellbound by the performance and excitedly and enthusiastically shared their thoughts over a glass of wine and tasty refreshments after the show.
The feedback has been incredibly positive and we are delighted to announce that we have booked them to come back to Langar and perform their version of The Passion on Palm Sunday (13th April 2025). Now that word is getting out tickets will be in demand so put the date in your diaries, we shall let you know when you can start to reserve tickets. Come to our tasting cellar and sample our bespoke vineyard – taste and see – this is a show not to be missed!
