Connecting a parish mailbox to Apple Mail

If you have a parish email account and would like to access it via Apple Mail, you can find instructions in the Apple Support Centre in an article entitled:
Add an email account to your iPhone or iPad
Go the section with the heading: Set up manually when you select Other for less common email providers. (or click here)
At Step 3, where it asks for you to enter your name, email address, password, and a description, it is recommended that you enter as follows:
Name: Your full name (e.g. John Doe)
Email address: Your WitV email address (e.g john.doe@wivertoninthevale.co.uk)
Password: Your WitV mailbox password (given to you when the account was set up)
Description: Something to identify the account as your parish account (e.g. Parish or WitV)
Mail will probably find your account settings automatically, but if it doesn’t, use the settings below when prompted:
Type of account: IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: mail.wivertoninthevale.co.uk (IMAP Port: 993)
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.wivertoninthevale.co.uk (SMTP Port: 465)
Next time you use the Mail app, you should see your WitV account listed below any accounts you had previously connected to the app. Just select this account to read and send emails in your WitV mailbox.
