The building

Holy Trinity, Tythby lies in the civil parish of Tithby (note the difference in spelling!) and Wiverton, and serves the villages of T(i/y)thby, Cropwell Butler and the hamlet of Wiverton. The church dates from the 13th century and further details of its history can be found on the Southwell and Nottingham Church History Project.

Church and community

In the heart of a former farming community, Holy Trinity is well known and loved for its interesting and much-valued architecture, attracting visitors from near and far.  Although the West Gallery is not currently in use, services involving the choir are a regular feature.  A fabulous snowdrop display is a significant annual event and the churchyard is maintained in a manner sympathetic to wildlife and biodiversity.  The church family is predominantly from the larger village of Cropwell Butler, a short and pleasant walk away.  A choir-led Christmas carol service is popular and draws many folk from other nearby villages.
