The Second Sunday of Advent
Katharine Bacon (LLM) will be leading the service this Sunday and Reverend Clare Connell will be preaching. Ann Mansell will be leading the intercessions, Hilary Tabron will be reading the lessons and Dorothy Thompson will be leading sung worship.
Although we are again able to open our church buildings for limited worship, we will continue to publish regular recorded services on our website. This will provide us all with an opportunity to pause and reflect on God’s word and our response to it.
We hope that as many as possible will watch this video at
10.30 am on Sunday 29 November
so that we can share the experience of corporate prayer and worship whilst maintaining social distancing.
You might find it helpful to display a copy of the Weekly Notices side-by-side with the video or have a printed copy handy. The responses for the congregation will appear as subtitles in the video, but if you would like to download a copy of the Order of Service, please click here and the file will open in a new tab.
The video will remain on the website afterwards, so that you can watch it again later (or for the first time, if you missed it before!)
Click on the image below to watch the video. It will ‘go live’ 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. You might want to start the video a little early, just to check everything is working OK before pausing it () and pressing Play () again at the time in blue above. You can make the video fill the whole screen by pressing the button at the bottom right of the video window once it is playing.
Time for a Cuppa
We are replicating the tradition of ‘refreshments’ after the service with an online Zoom meeting at 11.30 am. You will obviously have to provide your own tea/coffee and cake/biscuits, but you should be able to enjoy the company of others who have shared in the service and catch up with news. For reasons of online security, we no longer publish Zoom links in the Weekly Notices or on our website. Please click here to subscribe to receive regular invitation links by email, ensuring you tick the Time for a Cuppa box along with any other types of update you would like to receive from us. You can contact Sid Mitchell if you haven’t yet subscribed and need the link for this Sunday’s meeting. If you haven’t used Zoom before, click here for some guidelines on how to get started.
If your browser ‘hangs’ when you press the Submit Feedback button, please reload this page by clicking the browser page refresh button (to the left or right of the address bar, where it says wivertoninthevale.co.uk/…) and try again.
The next scheduled online service is Sunday 13 December at 10.30 am. Check the website beforehand for details.
