Mothering Sunday 2019, Colston Bassett

Colston Bassett, 31 March 2019

On this lovely Spring morning, there was a bumper turnout for the Mothering Sunday service at St John the Divine. Forty adults and fifteen children joined in the worship at this joyous event. Colston Bassett residents were joined at the service by folk from other parts of the parish. The service was led by churchwarden Edward Hine and our lay reader Katharine Bacon preached the sermon. Such was the turnout that didn’t have enough flowers to distribute to all of the mothers present! Next year, we hope and pray for an even larger congregation and we will be sure to have more flowers in reserve.
