Good Friday Pilgrimage – 7 April 2023

The weather forecast for Friday was for bright sunshine and for once the reality lived up to the prediction.
The pilgrimage started with a short service at St Giles, Cropwell Bishop before the walkers (and their dogs) set off across the fields toward Colston Bassett. Here, after a brief stop for a cup of tea and a packed lunch there was a second short service at St John’s church before the next stage of the journey. This took the route along the lane to Langar where walkers were greeted with hot cross buns on arrival at St Andrew’s. Revd David Milner led a solemn service with much time for contemplation before we all dispersed into the sunshine to consider the period between the cross and the resurrection.
