Concert for a Summer’s Day
Over the past two years, Bingham and District Choral Society has concluded the singing year with a short, informal lunch-time concert in St Mary’s Parish Church, Newark. We have enjoyed beautiful weather on both occasions and have attracted tourists and Saturday shoppers as well as regular supporters of the choir. Last year we performed alongside other choirs and ensembles as part of the Byron Festival. This year the choir will give its own concert of English folk songs, including a selection from John Rutter’s Sprig of Thyme. This will take place at St Mary’s on Saturday 6th July 2109 at 11.30 am and will last for approximately 45 minutes. Guy Turner will conduct and Edward Turner will accompany.
