Carols with the choir at Elton
This evening I attended the carol service at Elton led by Rachel, Katharine and the joint churches choir. For me this particular service is a highlight of Christmas. A warm beautifully decorated church bathed in candlelight a truly welcoming home team and some terrific carols all adds up to an experience that encapsulates the proper spirit of Christmas. The highlight this year though was the choir’s rendition of ‘O Holy Night’ It was sung with a depth of feeling that made yours truly well up inside. If you want to experience the true meaning of Christmas I recommend that you go to the carol service at St Giles Cropwell Bishop on Christmas Eve and listen to them. Quite simply – stunning.”
