Bishop Paul’s Deanery Days of Prayer during Lent
Bishop Paul will be visiting every deanery in the diocese during Lent to spend a day praying with people whom in different ways share in ministry and mission. There will be a particular focus on waiting upon God, discerning how the Holy Spirit is at work, and praying for refreshment and encouragement.
Area Deans are facilitating the day in each deanery arranging opportunities for Bishop Paul to meet with different groups and individuals, whether their primary area of ministry is in a local church, wider community or a place of work.
Each of the days of prayer will culminate in an evening service of Holy Communion where Bishop Paul will be preaching on the call to personal renewal and fresh encounter with God, with an opportunity of prayer for healing. All are invited to these services, with a particular invitation extended to those involved in any kind of leadership in ministry or area of service in the church.
Bishop Paul said: “In a season of increased opportunity and renewal for the church, I am hugely looking forward to spending time in prayer with God’s people around the diocese. This will include watching and waiting as we discern more of what God is doing and how we can join in with his further plans and purposes for us.”
All the services start at 7.30pm with refreshments served from 7pm. Everyone is welcome to any of the evenings, including outside your deanery if a date is more convenient.
For our own East Bingham Deanery, the date is:
Wednesday 25th March at St. Mary, Radcliffe on Trent
