Ascension Day is traditionally celebrated on the 40th day of Easter, and commemorates Christ’s ascension into heaven.
We will celebrate the occasion with a service on Thursday that will be led by Rachel (with the help of Sid), the talk will be given by Revd Fred Connell and the intercessions will be led by Revd Clare Connell.
This will provide us all with an opportunity to pause and reflect on God’s word and our response to it.
We hope that as many as possible will watch this video at
7:00 pm on Thursday 21 May
so that we can share the experience of corporate prayer and worship whilst maintaining social distancing.
You might find it helpful to display a copy of the Weekly Notices side-by-side with the video or have a printed copy handy.
The video will remain on the website afterwards, so that you can watch it again later (or for the first time, if you missed it before!)
Click on the image below to watch the video. It will ‘go live’ 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. You might want to start the video a little early, just to check everything is working OK before pausing it () and pressing Play () again at the time in blue above. You can make the video fill the whole screen by pressing the button at the bottom right of the video window once it is playing.
We will continue the celebration after the service with on online Zoom meeting at 7.45 pm, where we encourage you to raise a glass of ‘ascending bubbles’ to symbolise the ascension of Christ into Heaven. To join the meeting, click here at 7.45 pm.
The next scheduled video is Sunday 24 May at 10:30 am. Check the website beforehand for details.
