Alpha – Autumn 2024
What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe and everyone is welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes, online — you name it! No two Alphas look the same, but they generally have three key things in common: hospitality, a talk and good conversation.
What will happen each week?
Each session is made up of three elements:
1. A chance to connect
Usually, Alpha starts with a meal (or drink) together. This is an opportunity to meet new people and connect!
2. Watch a video
The Alpha episodes are about 25-minutes long and unpack the topic for the week. They are designed to engage and inspire conversation.
3. Space to share your thoughts
This is the time to discuss the topic, where you will hear from others and get to share your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously).
What is happening here?
We are planning to hold an Alpha course in our parish this Autumn, in Cropwell Bishop, starting on Wednesday 9th October at 7.00 pm at the Rectory, 2 Dobbin Close, Nottingham, NG12 3GR.
